1. Commitment to equality, equity, diversity and inclusion
With Each Other CIC is committed to upholding equality, equity, diversity and inclusion in line with the Equality Act 2010. We strive to create an inclusive environment in all professional interactions, ensuring fairness, dignity and respect for clients, colleagues, collaborators and community participants.
Equality means protecting fair treatment and opportunity. Equity means recognising that people face different barriers and taking appropriate action to remove them. Both are central to our work.
2. Our commitments
- Legal compliance: Adhere to the Equality Act 2010. Its protected characteristics are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
- Inclusive practices: Make our services and communications accessible, respectful and equitable for clients, collaborators and communities.
- Reasonable adjustments: Provide reasonable adjustments for disabled people to support fair access to our services and activities. Discuss access requirements early and respond to individual needs.
- Non-discrimination: Reject discrimination, harassment, victimisation and bias in professional interactions and community engagement.
- Lived experience and shared influence: Recognise communities as experts in their own lives and enable meaningful participation rather than tokenism.
- Fair payment: Pay community participants fairly for their time and expertise in our facilitated programmes.
- Continuous learning: Stay informed about good practice in EDI, reflect on our assumptions and challenge bias in our work.
- Addressing concerns: Take EDI concerns seriously and respond appropriately, fairly and sensitively.
We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, fair and diverse approach to our work.
